Cheat sheets for fantasy college football on FanDuel and Draftkings
Listen - it'd be impossible to create a whole projection system for college football, but Casey is willing to sell his lineups through DFSR. If you want to see how these plays and some others fit into lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings you can purchase three FanDuel lineups, three DraftKings lineups and a DraftKings mini-cheatsheet for $3 by clicking the PayPal button below. We're testing the waters here. If we sell a ton of these, prices are going up considerably for next week. And a quick note - these lineups are separate from our normal premium service because they are Casey's compensation for generously writing these articles. Thanks!
Quarterbacks
Michael Brewer - FD 5200 DK 6000
The Texas Tech transfer is taking over the QB for the Hokies. Brewer is a pure passer and has thrown for 2+ TD's in each of his 3 games. The super huge upside probably isn't there, but at this price Brewer is a very safe option. GTech hasn’t been good on defense and the game is being played in Blacksburg. VT beat Ohio St and then lost to ECU. Playing at home I think they get back on track and are led by the arm of Brewer.
Blake Sims - FD 6900 DK 5200
Sims appears to have secured the starting QB role and has been surprisingly consistent after shaking off the week one jitters. He's passed for two and run for one in each of the last two games. I love that Sims has been more assertive with his feet and has really developed a nice connection with Cooper. The price on DraftKings is just too good to pass up. The first two games were against easy opponents, but Bama also took the foot off the gas fairly early on in those games. Florida is of much better quality, but they don’t have the shutdown defense that they have had in the past. Bama should firmly control this game and I think you will see the "starters" get much more run than normal. All this points to Sims easily paying this number. Still okay on FD, but I might look elsewhere on that site.
Running Backs
Derrick Green - FD 7300 DK 5300
Super unsexy, yet super consistent (except the 31-0 shutout against ND). This play hinges a bit on the status of Funchess. If Funchess plays you can still roll Green, but if Funchess is out again Green becomes excellent value. Michigan's offense has been somewhat lackluster so far this season, but the main players account for a significant amount their production. Green is the lead tailback and it doesn’t appear there is really anyone pushing him for carries. Outside of the Notre Dame game Green has gone over 100 yds and scored in both of his other games. Play him on both sites, but DK's pricing offers more value
Jamaal Williams - FD 7400 DK 6800
A Steady-Eddie play. Williams was suspended for the week one opener, but showed no ill effect by rushing for 228 yds and two TD's over the next two games. BYU is far from a prolific passing team, even though Taysom Hill is extra dreamy, so Williams tends get a full run. Hill does vulture some goal line opportunities, but since they really don’t pass in the red zone there is enough to go around. I see this as a grind it out kind of game and BYU will look to continue to prove it belongs in the national conversation. Williams is the perfect middling type play. Keep it in perspective, but he should deliver a decent stat line.
Wide Receivers
Justin Hardy - FD 7000 DK 7000
Hardy contributed to the upset of VTech last week by crossing the end line once again. This week is the battle of the Carolina's. ECU is a pass first team and Hardy is the best of the bunch. The Tar Heels are an ugly 2-0 and struggled against Liberty, but 2-0 is 2-0. I think this is going to be a back and forth game the Pirates will need Hardy to keep up.
Amari Cooper - FD 8100 DK 6600
Cooper has five consecutive 100yd games, which is the longest active streak in FBS. There is no reason his streak won't continue this Saturday when the Tide take on the Gators in Tuscaloosa. Sims has seemed to find a bit of a rhythm lately and Amari has been the main benefactor. Bama has a plethora of talented backs, but Cooper outshines all the receivers by country mile. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Penn State and Missouri WRs
All of these guys are consistent receptions guys with occasional TD's. They represent strong value and are great options for rounding out your lineups.
Tight Ends
Jake Butt - FD 3300 DK 2600
Haha, okay, get it over with – make your jokes. My guess is Jake had some social issues as kid until about 3rd grade when he was biggest kid on the block. Jake is healthy again and is probably the Wolverine's best pass catcher outside of Funchess. I will probably play Butt regardless of Funchess' status, but if Funchess is out Butt falls into must play territory.
